Big Things Are Printing at Polkabean

Big news from the shop: an Epson SureColor F2270 is landing at Polkabean this month.

Embroidery and screen printing have always been at the heart of what we do. Soon you'll also get full-color direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, from a single custom shirt to a full group order, all made right here in our Cape Coral shop.

Meet the Epson SureColor F2270

DTG, short for direct-to-garment, prints your design straight onto the fabric, a bit like an inkjet printer built for apparel. Full color costs no extra work, and photos and detailed artwork are fair game.

The F2270 is one of Epson's newest garment printers. It pairs a PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead with UltraChrome DG2 ink, which Epson designed for vibrant color and fine detail. That ink is also ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX certified, an international textile safety standard, so it suits everything from adult tees to kids' shirts.

The F2270 is also a hybrid. Along with DTG, it prints direct-to-film (DTF) transfers, which we'll use to make performance wear.

What this means for you

Here is what you can look forward to once the F2270 is up and running:

  • Full-color designs. Photos, gradients and detailed artwork print sharp and bright.
  • One-offs and small runs. Order a single custom shirt or a dozen. Both are welcome.
  • No minimums. You pay for what you need, not for a pile you don't.
  • Soft feel on cotton. Prints sit in the fabric, so shirts stay comfortable instead of stiff.
  • Faster turnaround. Every Polkabean product is now made in-house, so your order never waits on an outside print shop.
